e.l.f. haul

I really appreciate all of the feedback that I got from my last makeup post. I am diving into wearing more makeup and your encouraging words and tips are so helpful and appreciated. If you haven't check out that post, there's A LOT of valuable information in the comments section, so please do.

ELF Cosmetics is a cruelty-free, vegan company (excluding a few brushes) and have hundreds of affordable items. To be completely honest most of my makeup are ELF products. I got no shame in that. I'm new to the makeup game. I've been wearing foundation, mascara and eyeliner for more than 10 years but lipstick? liquid eyeliner? eyeshadow? I'm starting to get the hang of it but I'm still learning.

I bought some of their Moisturizing Lipstick at Target and it worked so well on me! I ordered more. I've been enjoying Rosy-Go-Round and Red Carpet. I also got the Mineral Lipstick in Ripe Rose to have a more autumn looking lipstick. (I'm wearing it in this photo.) It looks a lot more pigmented in the online listing. I wish it was darker, but I do like it.

For a few years I've been using mineral foundation but after watching so many YouTubers use liquid foundation, I wanted to try it out again. I don't know why I thought to choose the color "Buff" but it was way too dark. I went back to Target and bought "Porcelain." I think "Buff" might work in the summer. We'll see.

The eye shadow palette was a freebie because I order a certain amount. I'm really excited to have all of these colors to play with! Now I just have to figure out how to mix and match. I also don't wear many colors so it will get me out of my comfort zone.

So this is my ELF haul! What do you think? Do you have any favorite ELF products?
I'd love to hear about it!

    1. I'm really enjoying the lipsticks. I wear a different color every day.

I think I'll create a post about the eyeshadow palette. It's kind of a lot for me right now. I'm going to get some advice from a good friend of mine and figure out which colors go well together. :)

  6. So fun! I would think with your light complexion and beautiful hair color that red lipstick would be perfect on you! I so want to be able to wear lipstick, but it always looks a little much. I have yet to find a color that my hubby doesn't cringe at:)

    1. Chelsea, you're too sweet. I'm sure lipstick looks great on you! You're probably not used to it. (I'm still getting used to different colors. I feel like I look like clown sometimes.) I think trying some ELF lipsticks would be great. It's not a big commitment to try some colors. It's so affordable.

  9. I think you picked up a great starter set. Especially with the color palette in lipsticks. I happen to think E.L.F does a nice job with their shadows, blushes, and lips. However I find their eyeliners and foundations to be harsh and brittle and usually go towards Enjoy the journey with wearing more! I'm actually doing the opposite!

    1. I am really enjoying the lipsticks. Currently I'm using one of their mineral eyeliners (?) I can't remember which one right now. I actually heard 2 good personal reviews for ELF's liquid eyeliner (on the same day no less). I was surprised! I'm willing to try it out. Have you used their liquid eyeliner? The liquid foundation isn't going so well for me. It makes my face too oily and I've gotten 2 large zits... no thank you. Enjoy your journey as well!

    1. YES. They have so many things that I like about them. Cruelty-free, vegan, affordable. Affordability is a big thing for me since I'm saving for traveling! Also their price point makes me feel more comfortable with experimenting different products and colors.

  12. I had no idea ELF was cruelty free and vegan! That makes me love the company even more. All of your picks are gorgeous, especially those lipstick choices. I need to invest in a few of those beauties. I think autumn is the ideal time to wear lipstick!
