i need your opinion // kelly moore bag

I discovered this Kelly Moore bag a couple of weeks ago and I CANNOT stop thinking about it. My boyfriend, Keith and I are going to backpack across Europe for 4 months next year (!) and I need a carry on bag/camera bag/backpack for when we're out and about. If you check out this video you can see all of the features of the bag. It's a messenger bag/purse/backpack/camera bag. We will be using backpacking backpacks for all of our gear, but this will be good for my camera, laptop, purse supplies, the works! Also I really like how the wallet type pocket is a pocket that lays against your back when it's a backpack. I'm pretty convinced that I need this bag! (The price point is way out of my budget, but if I get it, it will be a birthday/Christmas present.)

So my problem is I cannot decide on a color. My original choice was navy but I'm always having second thoughts on the other colors. I think I like the orange more than the pink? I know that navy will match with more outfits... (The brown isn't even on my radar.) Can you see I'm having a hard time here? Do you mind helping a lady out? Please let me know what you think in the comments! Thank you!

P.S. - Also if you have any other suggestions or concerns about this bag in general, that would be appreciated too!

  1. I love that the credit card pouch is on the inside, facing your back---what a great idea! It seems to be a very practical bag, and you will get so much use out of it before and after your backpacking trip! I would say go with the navy...it's the most classic option and will go with pretty much anything. Also, when you are traveling, it's best not to call so much attention to your purse as you might with the orange or pink options. That being said, the orange is pretty cool, but I'm sure in a few years we'll all be sick of orange haha
    When is your birthday?

Hope you have a great week :-)

    1. I want to agree that I'll get a lot of use out of it when not traveling, too. My birthday is July 18th, so it already passed. But my boyfriends mom wants me to get exactly what I want, so she'll be helping out with this purchase :) Such a sweetheart, right?!

    2. Ohh that's so nice of her! Love it when people actually make an attempt to get the birthday girl/boy something they really need or want! xx

  3. Absolutely navy. It will match everything and I speak from personal experience when I say bright colors draw attention and make you a target for thieves. Yes, I got mugged in the streets of Buenos Aires and I was wearing a super bright Anthropologie coat. In my defense it was a gift from an ex and the only coat I had, but I still think it drew too much attention. Navy will be stylish, and keep prying eyes at bay.

P.S. Please, please do not let me frighten you. Simply learn from my mistakes! This looks like a great bag for your trip and you will have the time of your life! I can't wait to learn what kind of adventures you have!

    1. Elizabeth! That must have been an awful experience! I'm so sorry you went through that.

You didn't frighten me. I've been hearing things left and right about being aware of that, so I know it's a realistic situation. I just need to avoid it as much as possible.

I can't wait until my blog followers see what I see, too! I can't wait to blog my travels. I think about that every day.

    2. I'm sorry to hear that happened, too. But I'm glad it didn't spoil your opinion of Buenos Aires! Security is a serious problem here though, and I don't think anything is going to change any time soon. I dress pretty casually here---I've traded in most of my dresses for jeans and leggings in an attempt to blend in with the porteño crowd. I used to use a lot of bright colors and patterns, but now I wear a lot of black & neutrals...could also just be that I'm getting older and my tastes are changing. Most days, my Buenos Aires uniform is something very casual and a backpack I wear in front of my body, unless I'm walking around my barrio where I feel like I know pretty much everyone.

    3. Chrystin, what kind of backpack do you use?

    4. Oh I just use a regular backpack (like one you would have used for school probably) and alternate between wearing it normally, and wearing it in front of my body, depending where I am.

  4. Orange! No one told you this, but it's actually a neutral. ;)
