Last Saturday (October 4th) I went to the first VEGAN Oktoberfest in Santa Monica, California. I didn't get many photos of the event, but it was AMAZING. There was great food, beer and music. The German chocolate cake was probably my favorite. (Made by The Ridiculous Baking Co.) We also had a yummy homemade pretzel made by Sage Organic Vegan Bistro (It was great quality. Not hard & super fluffy), Urban Pie German pizza (which included potatoes and vegan sausage. Yum!), & a vegan grill cheese from The Grill Cheese Truck. (You can see the other food & beer vendors here.)
The downfall of the event was how crowded it was. The lines were insane... I definitely cut them slack because it was their first year & I will definitely attend next year but I was pretty hangry at the beginning of the event.
We concluded the day by watching the sunset and enjoying the perfect weather. It was great day.

It truly was! Thanks for stopping by, Putri :)
DeleteAh, it looks like so much fun. I can't imagine how lovely it must be to live near the beach, to get to sit in the sand and watch the sun go down over the ocean-pretty amazing!

Right? Ocean sunsets are pretty spectacular. Where abouts are you?
DeleteIt's like a goodbye summer post. Though I imagine you still have many warm days ahead. It's so cool that slowly but surely more and more vegan options are becoming available.

Yaaa, I can't recall a truly autumn day yet. :( & yes! I agree. This month, I will be vegan for 5 years. Things have definitely changed since 2009. Makes me happy :)
DeleteWow, so many beautiful pictures. *__*
ReplyDeleteLovely greets Vanessa
Thank you so much, Vanessa!
DeleteAll of these photos are beautiful! I love Oktoberfest and think a vegan Oktoberfest is the coolest idea. All of that food sounds incredible. And a sunset at the beach--the perfect way to end a day full of delicious food and friends :)

I'm really happy a vegan Oktoberfest was created. I can't wait to go back next year!
DeleteI'd really like to attend a vegan event because I'd love the chance to try loads of different vegan foods all in the same day!

I'm sure there are vegan events in London all the time! It's a very vegan friendly city. I can't wait to go there next year and chow down on all of the eats.
DeleteA vegan Oktoberfest?! That is so awesome and I wish I could go! I love your photos, as well... looks like such a good day.
ReplyDeleteYup! First annual. I noticed there was one in Germany on the same day! :)
